An excellent day tramp on the North Island of New Zealand, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is well worth some consideration. It was one of my favourite experiences and the scenery is spectacular. Here’s a bit of information about the hike:

Top 5 books to read in India
These are some of the books I read while in India which I would recommend to fellow travellers. Whether you read them before, during or after your time in India I’m sure you’ll enjoy and relate to them. I found it was a great way to get additional insights into my experience in India, and found explanations for things I would otherwise remain clueless about. Even if you have no plans to visit India I’d say they’re all books worth a read regardless.
Purradise Cat Cafe – Kitty Cuddles in Kuala Lumpur
In February, after 5 months of travelling, I was seriously beginning to miss my lovely kitties back home. And decided to jump at the opportunity to visit a cat cafe in Kuala Lumpur.
Running for Harry Potter Land – a day out at Universal Studios Japan
One of the highlights of my visit to Japan had to be Harry Potter land in Universal Studios Japan. I love Harry Potter, and it was great to see how excited the Japanese people got about it all. It was quite an experience so I thought I would share it.

Money saving tips for travel around New Zealand
New Zealand can be a fairly expensive country to travel around, especially in comparison with Asia. However there are a few things you can do to keep your budget down. Here are a few suggestions:
Bookme.co.nz
One of the most expensive aspects of travelling around New Zealand has to be the activities. Skydives, white water rafting, zorbing etc – it all adds up. A great website to check out is bookme.co.nz. They offer great discounts on an array of activities from bungee jumps to spa trips. And the savings can be large. For example I booked black water rafting via bookme and saved $100!

Climbing Mt Agung (Bali’s highest volcano) and sliding back down on my bum
Although Bali had been scheduled as a “holiday” from my long term trip. When I heard it was possible to hike up the highest volcano on the island, I thought ‘heck I enjoy walking, this will add to the relaxation’. How wrong I was!

Descending Mt Agung is one of the most terrifying experiences of my life
Travel Budget – Malaysia
Arriving in Malaysia, after three months in India, I was incredibly excited to be somewhere more developed. Although somewhat apprehensive about costs, and rather worried I would spend too much.

Hiking in the Japanese Alps – Kamikochi to Nishi Hotaka Hut
Upon arriving in Kamikochi (my base for the Japanese Alps) there appeared to be two types of hikers – the leisurely, flat along the river walker, and full blown mountain climbers, with ice axe, crampons etc. Being comfortably in the middle of these two categories I went in search of a middle of the road hike.

Fuji Q – Rollercoasters with a mountain view
Fuji Q has to be one of the best places to visit in Japan. It has incredible rollercoasters, all set with Fuji in the background. The best views I had of Fuji were from some of these rides! Here’s some information, so you know what to expect:

Where to find Vegetarian food in Tokyo
Finding vegetarian food in Japan isn’t always easy, but it is possible. These are just a few options to sample while in Tokyo:
T’s TanTan (Tokyo Station)
This vegan restaurant has to be one of the easiest, and best places to try ramen. There are a selection of noodle soups, which you can ponder over without worrying about where the soup stock came from. Not only are there Japanese options, but also some Korean cuisine. The main dishes cost around 800yen.
